Math Scribe Post/May 1rst 2007
Today in math class, {1rst} we got our math test’s back. As Miss.V said, “The majority of the grade did well!” {2nd} After we all enjoyed looking at our tests, we learned how to use negative numbers on a calculator. The symbol that you can use to work with negative numbers is the OPP button. But there is no such thing as that kind of a button, so you can use the +/- button instead. Here’s and example when to use the +/- button………..
-22-{-13}=
So go get a calculator and figure it out!!!
ok…………do you want the answer?
It’s, well….you figure it out!!!
Homework: None!!!! :}

Meghan,
Posted May 2, 2007, 9:38 pmI enjoyed your scribe post, but remember, when working with negative numbers when you subtract you change the sign of the number you are subtracting and then add. So in this problem the -13 to 13 and add it to the first number.
-22-(-13) = -22+13 = -9
See me during flex and I’ll give you some practice problems.
