Two clarifications. Be careful when making general conclusions about other cultures. Just because Indian people respect animals does not lead to the conclusion that they do not take care of their children. You will notice that many animals in the video's and pictures are thin and undernurished. This is because when there is a shortage of food, the people eat first, then the animals have what is left over. Also, Karma is the Hindu idea described by the saying, not the saying itself.
